Day 4/19 (2023 Summer Biketrip)
Intro: in the summer of 2023 I did a 1.614 km (1.000 miles) long biketour in Denmark and a bit of Sweden. I wanted to ride on a couple of old railroad-tracks, now converted into bike trails.
It took me 19 days in the sadle and it was a great adventure !
Sunday 9th of July 2023 (4:19)
I had completely forgotten that today was a Sunday and that my sister was probably home today. She lives in Ikast, which is close to where I am now. I wrote to her, asked if it was ok for me to come by. A deal was made, and off I went – I departured from Alheden Skov Shelter at 09.11 am.
Ikast where my sister lives, is a bit west of my route, so it would be a detour that would delay me, especially because I was going to stay for the night there. But of course totally worth it. It was a great opportunity to have.
It was hot today – at least 25 c. It was especially the last 10 km that was very hot for me. I had to stop quite a few times in the shade to get my heart rate down and drink some water. It’s amazing so much water I need when it’s hot and sunny. On overcast days it’s much less water I need. My water bottle no. 2 came into use for the first time on this trip.
I arrived at Ikast at around 12.30 am. It was nice to se my sister again, and her dog. She showed me the progress she’d made with her garden. It looked nice. We had a few cold beers and relaxed in her garden – later she cooked up a great dinner for us – tasted awesome!
